Angelina Jolie was not “hospitalized” for her weight, despite a report from exactly one year ago today. Gossip Cop corrected the falsehood 12 months ago, and time has again proven us correct. Shockingly, even though the tabloid was busted for its phony narrative, it continued in the intervening months to publish several more untrue tales about Jolie’s weight and health. On November 15, 2017, Star maintained Jolie had been recently “hospitalized,” as a result from the stress from her divorce from Brad Pitt causing her weight to plummet. The tabloid contended, with her custody battle and the daily obligations of parenting six kids, the actress barely ate and rarely took care of herself. Amiah Miller , who stars in the upcoming “ War for the Planet of the Apes ,” has joined the cast of fantasy-comedy “Anastasia” opposite Emily Carey and Aliyah Moulden, Variety has learned exclusively. Miller , who plays the Nova role as a mute orphan in the latest “Apes” movie, will play a young American who befriends Anastasia in the re-telling of the classic story. Set in 1917, “Anastasia” sees Anastasia Romanov escape through a time portal when her family is threatened by Vladimir Lenin, and finds herself in the year 1988. Blake Harris is directing the live-action family film, which begins production next month in Portugal. Armando Gutiérrez is producing the film. Murray and Eli Lipnik are the executive producers. “Anastasia” marks the second production between Swen Group, the Latin American company that recently established a US distribution arm, and Florida-based production company Conglomerate. One of the glitziest precursors out there is the Golden Globe Awards. They may not be incredibly influential, Oscar wise, but they definitely factor into the race. It’s an interesting situation, one we’ve detailed in the past (and may very well get into again). As such, the Globes get more than their due. Today, I wanted to take an initial crack at predictions for the award, pairing them with my standard Academy Award predictions. A lot of this is even bigger guesswork now, as you’ll see below. Still, it’s worth a shot, right? Exactly. I knew you’d agree with me. Now, we can move on. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (or HFPA) do favor celebrities, so this could end up being a hell of a haul for Bradley Cooper and his filmmaking debut A Star Is Born. Updated Academy Award predictions for early November

Next week, the Independent Spirit Awards will announce their nominations, moving us forward in the fall precursor season. I won’t be predicting the nods this year, just since it’s an exercise in futility, but I will have more to say about them next Friday. Today, we’re focused on Oscar noms, which I will be continuing with every week or two, obviously. Before long, every week will be necessary, once the precursors come in hot and heavy. For now, we’re still just rearranging our proverbial dance cards based on hunches and buzz. It won’t be long though that things start to change in a notable way, one way or another. For this update, I’ve mainly made small changes. We’re still waiting on a few things to begin screening, like The Mule and Vice. At the same time, we’ve just seen the debut last night of the Ruth Bader Ginsberg biopic On the Basis of Sex. Some of that buzz is included here.
